    Greeks Named Phoenix Bird Canaanites Had Adopted Perhaps Bennu of Egypt God of Regeneration

    Apparently around the same time that Phoenix (a son of king Agenor) brought the phonetic alphabet to the Mediterranean, the Greeks began to call the seafaring Sidonians the Phoenicians (when the Ice Age had ended), and also called those Canaanites’ bird goddess of regeneration and new beginnings the Phoenix, which previously may have been called the Bennu bird begun worshipped by the Egyptians.
