    Laban May Have Been Named for White Limestone Ice Age Lebanon Mountains or Purity Anticipated

    Lebanon was named probably for its white limestone mountains, more white when Laban (also meaning white) lived there during the Ice Age, when the glacial snow-line on the mountains extended down to 6,000 feet. Laban may have been named for that ice age geography, or more probably because his parents wanted purity for him.
