Typical archaeologists taught that biblical history is essentially unreliable are faced with the embarassing reality that the ancient names for Greece were from biblical characters, listed in the Table of Nations (Genesis 10).  Greece wasn’t called by that name until the time of the Romans, who called the entire greek peninsula Grecia, from the Graikos, a tribe of “greeks” who had settled in Italy circa 1000 B.C., who helped build (along with the Tyrians) the Etruscan culture at that time, when the civilizations of the Mediterranean were emerging from the Dark Age, after the bronze age had collapsed a few centuries before, actually because of climate change and sea level rise, because of the end of the Ice Age.

The sons of the biblical Javan (who is actually mentioned in my old greek history college textbook from Dartmouth), as listed in Genesis 10, were Elisha, Tarshish, and the Kittim and Rhodanim (apparently the progeny of Kitti and Rhodan), who respectively would leave their marks with place and people group names such as, from Elisha, the Elysians of Elis, or Hellas, so also known as the Hellens or Hellenes, and his brother Tarshish, his city later known as Tartessos (now Seville), far to the west in southern Spain, where is a still very rich and anciently great mining district (Rio Tinto), which before the end of the Ice Age was the big mineral resource for the Atlantean empire.

Atlantis was destroyed however also by the sea level rise with the end of the Ice Age, her port cities inundated by the world ocean which consumed many other bronze age port cities in various parts of the world (see category Submerged Ancient Ruins) circa 1500 B.C., when even mainstream archaeologists are now beginning to admit there was a catastrophic climate change, but they still aren’t snapping on the submerged ruins (which certainly prove the Ice Age ended much later than the   darwinists are saying).

The Rhodanim and Kittim, also progeny of Javan, were the namesakes of Rhodes, an ancient maritime power in the eastern Aegean, and the bronze age city of Cition, renowned for its production of copper which in greek translates kupros, hence the name of the location of Cition, on the island of Cyprus, which then is not named after Kittim as often opined by biblical experts, for Kittim, or Kitti, is the namesake of the old city called Cition, on the “copper island,” Kupros or Cyprus.

And the patriarch Javan of course, even mentioned in my old college secular history textbook, was Iawan to the ancient Greeks (they had no ya nor v sound), the namesake of the Iones, Ionians, who later would be known as Athenians centuries after the end of the Ice Age, when Athena (wife of Chronus/Ham) was worshipped over Posidon, who actually was Sidon, a grandson of Ham through Canaan.  It was a much smaller world back then than we have been led to believe, I think you can see, when they navigated quite confidently across the open oceans of the bronze and ice age world by the mapping method according to precession timekeeping, explained in article #2 at http://IceAgeCivilizations.com, not the kind of science they currently want to teach in the public schools, but rational nevertheless.
